Messi had to leave the field early in Inter Miami CF’s most recent MLS match and will not be participating in the national team’s pre-World Cup training camp.
Although Inter Miami’s medical team claims Messi only suffered “muscle fatigue” and not a serious injury as rumored, the caution from the Argentine coaching staff suggests the 39-year-old superstar is not yet fully in top form.
“Information about Messi’s condition is not too serious. We need to wait for further developments in the next few days and the results of tests to confirm whether the initial positive signs are accurate,” Coach Scaloni shared with DSports.

Besides Messi, a number of other key Argentinian players such as Emiliano Martínez, Cristian Romero, Nicolas Paz, Nicolas Gonzalez, Nahuel Molina, and Gonzalo Montiel also suffered minor fitness issues at the end of the season and were unable to participate in Buenos Aires (Argentina).
